Join me for one week of math review designed to get you ready to go back to school. We will be reviewing math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, basic geometry, measurement, and problem solving. Each class will begin with a brain teaser. I will then teach the concepts for the day, followed by guided practice. Then students will be encouraged to participate in interactive games to reinforce the concepts. The goal is to have fun while reviewing the concepts...
Hello! My name is Susan. I have been teaching for over 20 years, working with students from preschool age all the way through high school. I have taught in public, private, home, and online settings in subjects such as reading, language arts, history, and geography. I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education with a teaching minor in social studies, and a master's degree also. I am happy to draw upon my education and years of experience to make your child's learning experience both fruitful and fun. My philosophy of education is that the goal of a teacher should be to help a student reach their highest potential. For some students, this means inspiring them; for other students, this means showing them. Still for others, this may mean walking them through a process many times or presenting material in many different ways. Patience and respect are necessary qualities for a good teacher. Encouraging students to reach higher is another important trait. One ultimate expression of a good educator is that a teacher imparts to a student the desire to continue learning far beyond the textbook or assignment. A fun fact about me is that I write poetry, prose, and songs.
