The first day of school can be both exciting and scary! In this class, we will meet once to discuss the book, "First Day Critter Jitters". Students can read this at home with family or on their own and bring questions and thoughts to class. If you have an early reader or a reluctant reader, this is a fun introduction to book clubs and reading fluency. We will practice decoding strategies to identify challenging words as we take turns reading excerpts from the book. We will NOT be reading the...
I have worked as a public and private school teacher for 4 years teaching grades K-9 and love supporting and inspiring students. I work to approach each learner at their comfort level and to empower them.
"First Day Critter Jitters" by Jory John (available in libraries!) I will be sharing excerpts from the book as well, so if your learner can't access the book before class, we will all be reviewing the excerpts together.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
