Hello Everyone! It's time for some preschool circle time fun, and I am so glad that you are interested in this class for preschoolers 😊 I would love for you to join in at any time and make some new friends while getting ready for kindergarten👩🏽‍🤝‍👩🏼 It is a 25-minute class filled with Preschool and Kindergarten readiness skills! Each class will be a time to interact with other students and participate in learning activities and games that include:

-Music
-Learning about the days of the week, months of the year, and seasons
-Learning the numbers to 20, simple addition, and identifying missing numbers
-Letter names and sounds
-Stories with comprehension questions
-Games 
-Turn-taking
-Listening to others
-Self-discipline and focus
**Optional homework is included**

We will be sure to begin each class with a discussion about the day and sharing. Then, we hear a song to get some wiggles out and to help initiate learning. Fun activities will follow that will help us learn each day.  Each week, we focus on a different letter of the alphabet so we can practice recognizing it, learning how it sounds, and hearing it at the beginning of words.  I often use Google Slides to help the students see what we are focusing on and other appropriate handheld props. And, I offer optional homework if you are interested.

I will give children time to share and talk in class in order to practice communication skills, but I am sensitive to those who are shy.  I encourage raising hands so we can practice taking turns when talking. I like to keep microphones on so we can practice talking when it is their turn or learning to talk in a group. 

If there is background noise in a learner's room, then please mute their mic until it is their turn to talk. It would be helpful to teach them how to mute and unmute themselves so they can do it without the help of an adult.  I will mute mics as necessary, but feel free to turn them on if the environment becomes quiet again. If parents need to instruct their children during class, please keep the mic off until it is your child's turn to speak. Thank you for your cooperation!

I have been a teacher for over 17 years, and I have taught in a classroom for 15 years and online for over 3 years. I have taught many children to read and to speak English as a second language. I look forward to getting to know your child in my online classroom and would love to have them for the entire school year, if possible!

Other things to know:
-If you start mid-week, I will issue a refund for the days that were missed
-I will issue refunds for missing classes when it involves emergencies or planned time off, when prior notification is given
-Headphones do not block out background noise. If a child is wearing headphones, the room still needs to be quiet because it disrupts the class.
-Outschool's policy is that parents and caregivers should remain off-camera.
