Class Experience

Spanish is a widely used language all over the world and especially in the United States. Being bilingual has many benefits, socially and mentally! It can also be very helpful when finding a job, since you are able to speak with a wider variety of people. In this half semester course, students will work through the first half of the Spanish 1 curriculum, which is the most basic form of Spanish. Worksheets, vocabulary lists, and other class materials will be provided by the teacher throughout the course. Students will learn Spanish vocabulary, phrases, conjugations, and grammar while interacting with each other and the teacher as much as possible in the Spanish language. The teacher will speak mostly English, but will increase in Spanish instruction as the class progresses. By the end of this course, students will be able to have a short conversation completely in Spanish. I like to have fun when I teach, and I like to give the students as much help as I can to help them memorize and internalize this language. The instruction materials will be made and provided by the teacher. Students will be responsible for practicing and studying their lessons between classes. Vocabulary is very important, so students will be expected to practicing their vocabulary lists given each week. The following class schedule is tentative, and subject to change if deemed necessary by the teacher:
Lesson 1: El alfabeto (the alphabet)¿Como te llamas? (what is your name)
lesson 2:Los números (the numbers) ¿De donde eras tú? (Where are you from)
Lesson 3: Los días de la semana (days of the week)¿Cuantos años tienes tú? (How old are you?)
Lesson 4: Los meses el año (The months of the year)
Lesson 5:¿Qué Fecha es Hoy? (What is todays date?)
Lesson 6: Por Favor y Gracias (Please and Thank you) Los sustantivos (nouns)
Lesson 7: Saludos (greetings) y Adios (goodbye)
Lesson 8: ¿Te gusta...? (Do you like?) Preguntas con "Si y No" (Yes and No questions)
Lesson 9: La familia (the family) Repaso (review)
Week 10: Conversaciónes (conversations: finals)

I'm so excited to speak Spanish with your students!
