In this class, students will be given the necessary tools for efficient reading at a college level. While of course students learned the basics of reading in their elementary years, reading in college is another task entirely. Reading loads in college are often high volume and very dense. Students may be assigned 200 or more pages of reading per week taking a standard course load in college. Through this lesson, students should walk away feeling equipped with a strategy for tackling this pile of reading quickly and efficiently.
Learning Goals
Students will understand the layout of academic articles and books they are likely to be assigned in college, and understand how to read these materials effectively.
