Pre-teens and young teens will learn basic skills in how to be a successful baby sitter. We will discuss what to do, what not to do, ways to go above and beyond for the parents, behavior management, safety tips, as well as participate in discussions and question and answer opportunities. This class will use discussion and critical thinking strategies to help students to think through potential scenarios that could occur during their time with children while parents are away. We will share stories of babysitting experiences that may have gone well or not so well and what can be learned from those experiences. I like to have students to critically think through situations and gain confidence that they would know what to do in any situation they may face in a babysitting situation.
