Students will learn strategies for handling difficult behavior situations they may encounter while babysitting. Students will learn 4 ways to create an environment where children feel secure and follow directions. Students will learn how to build positive relationships with children they are babysitting. We will discuss creating structure and routine while babysitting as well as learning how to maintain authority, maintain a fun atmosphere and maintain an positive attitude. We will discuss what to do in given scenarios and if time allows, we will role play different situations so students can practice what they would say and how they would react if in a difficult babysitting situation.
