Description
Class Experience
By the end of this class, your learner will be able to identify the basics of caring for an infant while parents are away for a few hours. They will know the proper way to hold, swaddle, warm a bottle and feed baby, the proper way to burp baby, how to keep baby warm and safe. Diaper changing will be explained but not shown. We will talk about ways to entertain an infant and important questions to ask parents before they leave their infant in your learner's care.
I will not assign homework in this course. Learners will be demonstrating their knowledge by participating in class, asking questions and practicing as we go along.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
If handling a human baby for practice during the class, it may be helpful to have an adult nearby for proper hand placement to support baby's head, etc.
