This is a relaxed class that will encourage creative play. Through play and music we will talk about: - colors - shapes - sizes - simple patterns - counting I will use sorting cups, tea cups, shape cookies, and a play baby bottle. I encourage children to bring their own tea set or some plastic cups and a play spoon, bottle, or play food they can use to feed their baby. Some songs we will use: - Clap your hands - Looking in my window - Peekaboo - One Fine Face - I'm a Little Tea pot - Row, Row, Row your boat - The Ant, the bug and the Bee - 5 Green Speckled Frogs Children can be seated for this class, in a chair or on a blanket on the floor (picnic style) Children will have their microphone muted for most of the class but will be greeted by first name at the start of class with a fun song. They are encouraged to follow along with dance movements and finger play during songs, many of which will also include their doll. Finger play songs are great for pre writers to strengthen muscles in their hands and improve dexterity for fine motor skills. My teaching philosophy is that children learn best through play. I have several years of experience as head teacher for a special needs preschool classroom. I am also a mom to a wonderful 6 and 4 year old.
Learning Goals
Students will have fun with their doll while learning about sizes, colors, shapes, and counting.
