Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
I am Ms. Magaly and I am an opera singer, chorister, voice teacher, and early childhood general and world music teacher.
I have been a private voice teacher for 12 years and I have been teaching early childhood music classes and leading Spanish storytimes for the last seven years.
At Outschool I teach voice lessons as well as general and world music classes and Spanish-language storytimes for the little ones. In particular, I love sharing the beauty and diversity of Latin American music with others. I strongly believe that music brings unparalleled joy, and it has become my life's mission to to share the wonders of music with all children.
I am a trained opera singer and I sing with such ensembles as the Chicago Symphony Chorus and EnAmble Ad-hoc/ Newberry Consort. I have a Bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and a Master's degree in Vocal Performance from Roosevelt University. I am a native Spanish teacher and lover of the Spanish language. In my spare time I like to read, listen to podcasts, and play tennis.
I live just outside Chicago with my 11 year old daughter, 4 year old son, my husband, and two crazy cats!
