In this ongoing one-on-one class, children ages 5-18 will receive personalized help with their Spanish. Classes will be individually tailored to student's needs and may include any or all of the following: homework assistance, translation, reading or conversation practice, specific vocabulary sets, pronunciation, or grammar concepts. Class content will be determined in class depending on the child's immediate needs, or parents may contact me prior to class to request specific topics. ...
This class is taught in English.
Students will improve their Spanish language skills, including but not limited to: reading, comprehension, vocabulary, conversation, pronunciation, grammar, and fluency.
As I bilingual parent, homeschooler, elementary school teacher, and former high school Spanish teacher, I have been teaching both English and Spanish to children ages 2-18 for more than 20 years. As a volunteer in a Mexican orphanage, I helped children of all ages with both Spanish and English homework. I understand the value of being bilingual, and I will heartily assist your child in achieving that goal.
Optional homework may be assigned at parents' discretion depending on the child's ongoing needs.
Learners should have appropriate writing instruments for the material they wish to cover. This could include paper and pencil, a computer or other device for typing, or a white board and dry erase markers. If your child will be doing any writing in class, I highly recommend a small white board. They are easy to see on camera and easy to erase and reuse. Also, be sure to bring all materials to class that you need me to assist you with (i.e., homework, texts, books, etc.). Having your materials ready in advance gives us more time to focus on Spanish!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
