Description
Class Experience
1. Students will use and learn age appropriate social skills. 2. Students will complete assignments both in and out of class. 3. Students will learn age appropriate coping skills. 4. Students will feel safe and engaged in their classroom.
I am a teacher as well as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. I have been teaching social skills from an Applied Behavior Analysis perspective for several years. I will not discuss any sensitive material but I know that sometimes learners may mention something inappropriate or sensitive to other learners. In this scenario I will redirect the subject or address it in an age appropriate manner as I would in a non-virtual classroom.
1. In classes 1,3 and 5 there will be handouts provided that should be completed before the next class. They should not take more than 30-60 minutes depending on the learner. Some students complete them faster. 2. It is also expected that students practice what we learn in class.
1. A notebook 2. A writing tool 3. Learners can bring an item that makes them feel comfortable if they would like
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The learner can receive feedback, if requested, regarding participation and assignments.
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
There will be no sensitive material discussed in this class.
