Class Experience
This is a fun class where learners will explore different aspects of writing. Each week will have a different focus with an after class activity attached and available in the classroom. Children can upload their work and interact with each other so that they can share their amazing writing. Learners will be supported with writing frames and vocabulary back and also videos uploaded to the classroom to help develop their writing skills. Each lesson is a stand alone lesson and does not build...
To be able to explore new English skills. To grow in confidence in reading and writing easily, fluently and with good understanding. To grow in effective composition which involves articulating and communicating ideas.
I am an experienced primary / elementary school teacher and head of year with over 20 years in the classroom. I have taught in London, North Africa and the Middle East and am now based in the U.S. With many years of experience and enjoy helping children progress in their academic journey. I pride myself on ensuring that the materials are educational and engaging and that children leave the lesson knowing more than they started. Progressing and moving forward with confidence. I am looking forward to you joining me! I have a particular interest in helping reluctant writers (and readers) to achieve and been fortunate enough to have worked in schools that have provided lots of in-house and outside specialist training and courses to help us apply the most effective strategies.
Every week there will be an activity related to the session.
Children will need to be able to: - Annotate using zoom - Use the typing tool on Zoom - Be able to unmute and mute their user - Be able to upload their work / or a responsible adult on their behalf to the classroom via a scan or photo.
I will be feeding back to parents and learners.
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
There will be some links to websites and Youtube videos that will be posted to the classroom. Children do not need a Youtube account to access the video.
