Awesome Auditions! Theatre, Film, Video, Voice Acting

As a Broadway Composer/Playwright I've judged thousands of auditions and now I help students build confidence, and habits that they will use in auditions, interviews, oral reports or any time they must communicate clearly and effectively!

Description

Class Experience

Among the many important items we will delve into:

Appearance
Posture
Preparation
Greetings
Confidence
Choices and Adaptability
Politeness
Common mistakes
Head shots and resumes
How to say thank you and goodbye

Time permitting we will have Q and A at the end of the class.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Eastern University, a six year Master-Storyteller Apprenticeship with Arthur Giron, (Former head of Carnegie-Mellon University graduate stage/screen writing program), and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Humane Letters for "Achievements and Service in the Performing Arts" from Eastern University in 2016. I was also honored to give the 2016 graduation address for the University and the Templeton Honors College. My first show premiered on Broadway in 2015 (Amazing Grace, Dir. Gabriel Barre). My years climbing the ladder of professional theatre and visual media has given me a unique perspective on the challenges young people face. I will now take some of the lessons which I have applied to seminars and teaching around the country and offer it online to select platforms and students.
Since this is a one-time class we will not be receiving homework. In the future, multi-part classes will feature activities that will get students on their feet, interacting and practicing techniques.
Notebook and pen or pencil.
We will have a multiple-choice quiz at the end of the class to help students internalize what they have learned. After the class students will receive a document to help plan their areas of work and improvement based on the class material.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
