Description

Class Experience

In this one-time, introductory course, students will be introduced to the field of archaeology in a simplified way. I will cover the following questions:

-What is an archaeologist? I will explain this career path using digital images on Google slides.
-What are artifacts? This will be done through completing a digital sorting activity to help students recognize "new" vs. "old."
-What tools do archaeologists use? As a class, we will pack a virtual backpack with some commonly used tools.

Students will learn what an archaeologist studies, what tools they use, and some common things archaeologists do while excavating, or looking for clues from the past.

All class resources will be digital using Google Slides.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Google Slides

30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
