Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - 1
Learning in the early years should be fun, exciting, and led by a teacher who is energetic, upbeat, and positive! And that is exactly what your child will receive in all of my classes.

In this class, Awesome Alphabet N-Z, students will explore the second half of the alphabet through fun and interactive activities with a predictable format.

Class will begin as we sing the alphabet together and it will be shared that we will be exploring and having fun together learning about many letters.

Each letter will be the focus of four slides. The first slide we will identify the letter and then be shown three objects that begin with the letter. On the 'N' slides we will have a nest, a nurse, and a nickel. We will focus on making the 'n' sound. On the next slide we will identify which letters are an uppercase 'N' and which are a lower case 'n'. Slide three we will sing a song together about the sound the letter 'Nn' makes. And finally on the final slide for 'N' we will decide if objects start with the letter 'Nn' or not.

This process will repeat with letters through Z.

At the end of class we will sing the alphabet together and I will bid farewell to each learner.

And if your child loves this class, check out Awesome Alphabet A-M if you have not already done so.
Learning Goals
Young learners will learn to identify the letters N-Z and begin to recognize objects that begin with that letter as well as beginning to differentiate between uppercase and lowercase letters.

I am thrilled to offer a wide variety of classes. You will find classes that focus on the conventions of writing, sentence building, paragraph building, and even grammar courses. No matter what stage of development your young writer is in, you will find something in my course offerings that will move him/her to the next level. Having fun while writing is imperative so my courses will focus on topics that are unique and fun for children.

Young learners might enjoy my class of songs and finger plays and various pre-math and pre-literacy offerings! I love to have fun and be silly with little ones.

I possess a BS and MA in Early Childhood Education and have been an educator in private independent schools for 31 years. I have taught children ranging in age from preschool to third grade. There is something magical about every stage of development and tapping into that magic to help young children soar is what fuels me.

I have found a great combination of nurturing and firmness that enables my students to have fun while learning in a welcoming environment. Learning must be meaningful and engaging while still having structure and expectations. This combination will be found in all my Outschool classrooms.

When not teaching I am an avid spectator of my daughter's softball games , encouraging my son with special needs to learn to ride his bike and use his voice output device, and reading. I recently read an entire 375 page book in one day!

I look forward to meeting and teaching your child soon!
