Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
Beginner - Intermediate Level
During this ONGOING class students will have a brief introduction to the Japanese art form known as Anime or Manga. During the first half of class students will develop a portrait of an anime face in 5 progressive steps. They will learn the traditional facial proportions for anime drawings. During the second half of class students will learn basic coloring techniques using color pencils or markers and black fine tip sharpie marker. Students will learn basic color pencil techniques such as “hatching” and “shading” to color a finished drawing. Coloring is just as important as the drawing! Your child will be astonished by the bright, bold colors in their completed portraits! It is my hope that I can instill a love for drawing as well as a sense of confidence in your young artist! The cognitive skills that they master while drawing can also be helpful when learning at school! In the materials section you will find everything that you need for this exciting class!
