US Grade 2 - 5
In this class we will explore the geography, climate, wildlife and history of the least well-known continent on earth - Antarctica! Using slides and NatGeo videos we will explore the continent, understand what makes it different from the Arctic, observe how wildlife adapts to such hostile conditions and watch the scientists that call Antarctica home for much of the year. We will discuss the history of Antarctica - how it was discovered and even its prehistoric past when it was a lush topical rainforest. Learners will have a chance to describe the unique Antarctic landscape using a choice of impressive descriptive words provided in the class. No prior knowledge is needed for this relaxed and interactive class.
