▬▬▬▬▬▬ How will the class be taught?▬▬▬▬▬▬ -Each lesson will include real-life examples, video lessons, Padlet discussions, an interactive application activity, and an extension activity. -As a flex class, we will not meet live! Each week will be a flexible schedule. -My teaching style is engaging and interactive. -Students will demonstrate their learning through participation in weekly classroom activities (no live meetings). -No prior background knowledge is needed. -*This is a flexible schedule class. Each lesson will be delivered via a prerecorded video that will be uploaded into the classroom every week. Each week, students will be assigned an activity to complete related to the prerecorded video. Each student will be required to comment on peer activity Padlet postings at least once each week, as directed by the activity, throughout the course in order to develop a sense of community in the class. The instructor will be available to help and will provide individual feedback throughout the course. - All Padlet discussions are due on Wednesday and projects and assignments are due by Friday of each assigned week. -This flex class is five weeks long. ▬▬▬▬▬▬ FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE ▬▬▬▬▬▬ Week 1: Budgeting- Recorded Lesson, notes, Q and A discussion using Padlet with the class, Budgeting interview assignment, and video to watch about the importance of budgeting. Week 2: Banking and Savings- Recorded Lesson, notes, Q and A discussion using Padlet with the class, Banking comparison Activity, and video to watch about the difference between a credit union and bank Week 3: Credit and Credit Scores- Recorded Lesson, notes, Q and A discussion using Padlet with the class, credit card research activity, and a video to watch about the dangers of credit cards Week 4: Insurance- Recorded Lesson, notes, Q and A discussion using Padlet with the class, Insurance interview assignment, and video to watch about the importance of insurance. Week 5: Investing- Recorded Lesson, notes, Q and A discussion using Padlet with the class, investing research activity If you follow my tips with you will be financially responsible!
Learning Goals
Students will learn with basic financial tools and knowledge that will enable them to build the lives they envision. The course will cover budgeting, savings and checking accounts, credit cards and credit scores, insurance, and investing. They will learn the reasons for saving for the future and see real-life examples of why being financially literate is one of the most valuable skills in their life. Students will see first-hand real-life examples and apply them right away in their everyday lives.

Nothing violent. They will hear stories of poverty and families struggle to get out of it.
