US Grade 6 - 8
Beginner - Advanced Level
Do you have a child that loves to read? Then you have found the right class. Join other avid readers as we discuss pre-selected books. We read two books a month and meet every other week. Want to give this class a try? Use code LEARNIPFJG3 to save $3 today! Reading is more fun when you are in a book club and can discuss the book with friends! I know this because I have been in a book club for over 25 years. :) In this online book club, your child will need to pre-read the book before each class. During the book club class, we will discuss the book allowing them to share their opinions and thoughts. We also engage the students in reading comprehension questions including main idea, inference, character analysis, sequence of events, author purpose, and more. Please see below the Common Core State Standards addressed in the class. We encourage all parents to research the books chosen for the class. We suggest checking out the books on www.commonsensemedia.org. While we try to read books appropriate for this age group, we realize everyone has different values. If a student is signed up for our class, this is your approval of the book. We are kind, encouraging teachers who work hard to engage all students in our classes.
