**Reading the book ahead of time is required. Reading is more fun when you can discuss the book with friends. In this ongoing book club, students will pre-read a book prior to each class. During class we will discuss the book allowing them to share their opinions and thoughts on the book. I will also engage the students in reading comprehension questions including main idea, inference, character analysis, sequence of events, author purpose and more. I will also provide extension activities ...
Students will -discuss the book -answer reading comprehension questions -listen to opinions of others -read a variety of book genres
Students will need to book will be read prior to class.
The student will need their own copy of the book.
I am happy to provide my classroom observations.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please check out each book selection at common sense media. If as student is enrolled, then I have will assume the parent has agreed to the student reading the book.
