Description

Class Experience

Students will know all of the components that go into writing a good story (main characters, setting, plot, conflict, resolution, etc.) and how to use those components to create an outline that they can then develop into a story. They will learn how to use things they are interested in (Avengers) and what is happening in the world around them to spark their imaginations and start writing.
I have been teaching writing classes since 1998, from 2nd grade creative writing to college level courses. I love finding that spark in kids that gets their imaginations ignited and the ideas flowing!
1-2 paragraphs per day on their own. They may use sample ideas we come up with in class or come up with something entirely different.
Monday: Create an outline
Tuesday: Opening paragraph--introduce main character and setting
Wednesday: Conflict: what is the problem? Who is the enemy?
Thursday: Resolution: What is the solution to the problem? How does the story end?
Come with a pencil and something to write with!
4 hours 35 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
