In this one time course, students will discuss Avatar characters. I will have questions planned for students to answer. We will have fun discussing the Avatar show while working on our debating skills.

Description

Class Experience

Students will learn how to use debate tactics in fun and friendly discussions about Avatar characters.
My class will be structured using a PowerPoint with questions/discussions I have written out before-hand. 
The students will interact with other students and myself regarding these questions for nearly the entire class time. 
My teaching style is to be friendly, patient, and encouraging. Everyone has their own learning pace and I love to embrace that.

Students will improve their understanding of debate tactics and socialization skills while engaging in fun discussions about Avatar.
They will learn how to make a claim, support it with evidence, and use modes of persuasion to help their argument/claim.
They will socialize with myself and/or other students while bonding over the show Avatar.

There is no homework for this class.

Students do not any physical objects for class. However, students should be familiar with the show Avatar and be able to talk about people from the show.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
