Beginner - Intermediate Level
We will learn how to create a crocheted pumpkin. In this 5-week class, we will learn how to read a pattern and the stitches needed for the project. Each week, we will go over a new stitch or two as we begin and continue to make our project. after the 5-weeks, you will not only leave with an awesome pumpkin, but also a better understanding of how to crochet.

Syllabus
5 Lessons
over 5 WeeksLesson 1:
Let's begin
On our first day, we will discuss the pattern, what we will need, and begin learning how to create a Chain (CH) stitch and Half Double Crochet (HDC) stitch and begin the project. If we have time, we will continue on with the pattern and learn how to make a Back Loop Only stitch (BLO).

Lesson 2:
The rectangle
Let's start the rectangle that will soon be transformed into our pumpkin using a BLO stitch.

Lesson 3:
Continuing on...
In this class, we will continue making our rectangle for the pumpkin and begin closing it up. If we have time, we may begin early with learning how to make the stem.

Lesson 4:
Let's make the stem
We will begin by learning how to make a Magic Circle (MC) and will begin making a stem for our pumpkin.

Supply List
What you will need: Your pumpkin can be whatever color you choose. Some examples that will work are orange or off-white. **If making a crocheted stem instead of using cinnamon sticks, you will need green yarn. - Medium (#4) to thick (#5) yarn (this is entirely up to you) -5.5mm -7.00mm crochet hook (depending on the size yarn you choose) -Stuffing -Scissors -Embroidery needle -Cinnamon Sticks (optional)

Hi there! My name is Tessa DeForge. I live in the beautiful state of Vermont with my husband, 2 silly dogs and 2 precocious cats. I graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2011 and hold a bachelor's in Art Education.
I am very passionate about education. I have taught in a traditional setting for 10 years as a 6-12 art teacher and as an early educator. I love to teach a multitude of things through art and play. Some of the classes I offer are: Art Social Group, Crochet Club, 1;1 Knitting and Crochet classes, as well as social groups, to name a few. I am always looking to expand on my class list. The skies the limit when it comes to art and I hope to have some more exciting classes up and running in the very near future.
