This is a sweet and cozy celebration of the Autumn Equinox. Learners will settle in for an inclusive Waldorf-inspired circle time, listen to an Autumn story, and create natural art to decorate their space for the season. We will greet each other, hear a short poem ('A Little Red Apple' by Marguerite Gode), and listen to a story ('The Gigantic Turnip' by Aleksei Tolstoy, Niamh Sharkey, and Imelda Staunton.) Learners will explore how the Equinox occurs and the impact it has on our seasons. We will discuss signs of the seasons changing, explore some seasonal flora, and create a fall leaf wreath. This craft will be loosely guided and each learner will create their own masterpiece. This class will be taught in our indoor classroom. Learners will need the following items: *collected fall leaves (natural, purchased, or print and cut out the provided pages) *glue (liquid glue such as school glue or Mod Podge is ideal as stick glue doesn't hold crinkly leaves well.) *paper plate with center cut out Learners may wish to utilize additional supplies. Some students enjoy adding a bit of sparkle with eco-glitter, bits of twine or ribbon, sequins, buttons, or even maple samaras! These are wonderful additions but are absolutely not necessary. At the end of our class, each learner will share the creation they made and we will sing our goodbye song. Learners will be provided with extension activities to continue exploring the season afterwards!

When Faith is at home, she loves to read philosophy and mystery books, train with her dogs, and bake secretly nutrient dense treats. Her favorite bake is chocolate zucchini cake (and you'll never even know there's veggies in there!)
Faith's classes are designed to combine age appropriate educational material with real life experiences in nature, even for kiddos who don't have access to the environment. She'll bring you out into the forests, lakes, and waterfalls, creeks, beaches, and farms! Faith will introduce you to wildlife, show you interesting plants and fungi, and bring forest school right to you in your home.
