Autumn and Thanksgiving Story Time with Games and Crafts

This will be a hangout club or group for learners between the ages of 3 and 8.                                                                                             
Each week in November, I will read a book about the Autumn season, Giving Thanks, and Thanksgiving to the learner(s) enrolled, and we will play a game or complete an arts and craft project.                                                                                                                        
The learner(s) will build reading fluency and comprehension skills by reading with the teacher and completing the games or activities that go along with each story that is read each week.                                                                                                                                    
The books that I will be reading are as follows:
Beginning Nov. 1 - Nov. 7: Week 1: Why Do Leaves Change Color? I recommend bringing leaves to this class, so learner(s) can participate in our leaf rubbing activity.
Beginning Nov. 8 - 14: Week 2: Sam the Sneezing Scarecrow. Learners will help the scarecrow get through a maze and will color, cut and paste together a scarecrow of their own.
Beginning Nov. 15 - 21: Week 3: Turkey Trouble. Learners will make their own turkeys by using their hands and construction paper.
Beginning Nov. 22 - 28: Week 4: Duck and Hippo Give Thanks. Learners will share what they give thanks to for this Thanksgiving.
Beginning Nov. 29 - December 5: Learners will complete an activity about the Top Ten things they want for Christmas and a "squibble"  activity.
