After a brief lesson on sheep and their real-life needs, we will compare and contrast sheep in the real world to sheep in the Minecraft world! As with all aspects of real-life farming, we will have a math problem to solve before we begin building. Students will use Minecraft's Creative Mode, to construct an automatic sheep shearing shed. This will be a step-by-step process. They will listen to instructions or can read them from the slides, that contain specific dimensions. These multiple-step processes will help with auditory processing, which improves skill-sets in reading comprehension and mathematical word problems. Students will need access to Minecraft and the classroom separately. They will be building in their worlds.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Lisa and I am so excited to be teaching for Outschool! As a mother to 5 children, ages 11 to 23, have modeled and taught life skills such as sewing, cooking, arts/ crafts, animal husbandry, and balancing a budget to name a few. For the past 10 years, I have taught in my local homeschooling co-ops, Sunday school classes, and various other community activities. I believe when you actively engage children through hands-on learning, learning becomes effortless!
I am also a homeschooling mom. I have educated my children from kindergarten up to grade 8. I have taught kindergarten which I have specialized in teaching phonics and letter recognition. As well as, science, word building, social studies, bible, and English literature.
Currently, I have been teaching ESL online for the last 3 years, to children in China ages 4 to 13 years. This experience has really helped me to be a more precise teacher. It is a great joy to see smiling faces as they learn and discover.
