In this course students will understand the three reasons of author's purpose, along with 3 ways to find the purpose in non-fiction text.
Class experience
US Grade 1 - 4
Students will be taught the three types of author's purpose. Each session will focus on one specific purpose of the author through story books and videos of story books. The class will be structured with a 5 minute review, 10 minute direct instruction, 10 minute guided and/or independent practice, and 5 minute wrap up. Students may be asked to read a book or watch a video of a book and answer comprehension questions? The homework should take no more than 30 minutes to complete.Assessments Offered
Informal assessments will be be conducted on each learner with an exit ticket at the end of each lesson as well as responses to questions during the lesson.Grades Offered
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
