We will use this class period to practice your upcoming audition. This audition can be (but not limited to) Solo and Ensemble NYSSMA All District All County All State Band Placement Honors band Chair placement Marching band Piccolo audition Solo in band/orchestra literature College audition We will practice the entire audition, and I will go over comments. We will work on sections that are needed together to help make your audition the best it can be. We will talk about strategies for nerves, anxiety, and proper audition etiquette. I have had students make/win: Michigan All State Band Michigan All State Orchestra Utah All State Band North Carolina All County North Carolina All District Western Carolina Concerto Competition Detroit Symphony Orchestra Civic Youth Ensembles placements Be a featured concerto soloist with their high school band Over my 20+ years of teaching, I have had several students decide to go into music. All of my students got into the universities of their choice, and most ended up with scholarships.
Learning Goals
Practice their audition music, work on audition etiquette and positive performance tips. Discussion on nerves and tips to work with your nerves/anxiety

Pre-Requisites
Please send my a phot of your audition music and your audition requirement prior to the start of class.
Also, please make sure you have access to “Original Sound for Musicians” on Zoom prior to class. This will save us instruction time.
