Class Experience
This coaching session will cover monologue preparation, slating, appropriate attire, and answer questions about how to prepare for an audition. Students may have an already prepared monologue/song or we can find one to work on together. I utilize my background in the performing arts as well as my experience as a college professor in theatre. I have also auditioned extensively and have been an auditor for students hoping to get into a performing arts HS program. I will be able to provide instruction on what to expect at an audition as well as coach monologues to make sure they are ready to go. This coaching can be catered to whatever stage of the process the student is in.
Learning Goals
Students will be better prepared for an audition.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Acting requires the actor to be vulnerable. When tapping into these deep parts of the psyche, certain emotions are inevitably triggered and depending on the mental health of the student, this may provide challenges. While theatre and acting can be very cathartic and healing, it must also be complemented with a healthy lifestyle and mental health practices.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
