Description

Class Experience

Through weekly gratitude practices, students will gain knowledge on how to incorporate gratitude into their daily lives. Continual gratitude practices will teach students how to focus on the positive things in their lives and help students shift from a negative perspective into a positive mindset quickly.
Gratitude has changed my life! Through daily gratitude practices, gratitude has helped me experience more positive emotions, feel more alive, sleep better, express more compassion and kindness, and even have a stronger immune system.

I have been studying gratitude and its positive effects on human emotions for several years. As a classroom teacher, I see how stress impacts my students daily life. The gratitude practices implemented within this class will help students incorporate gratitude into my daily life and have the huge benefits that continual gratitude provides.
Homework is not required. Students are expected to practice the gratitude skill they learned in class and practice it throughout the week with friends and family. Practicing gratitude skills continuoulsly helps students strengthen their practice.
All materials needed are optional. A list of suggested materials include pencils, markers, colored paper, scissors and smooth rock. If materials are not assessable students are still able to complete this class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No assessment is given. Students are given a gratitude journal with enrollment into this class.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
