Description
Class Experience
In this weekly drawing club, we will draw people practicing our favorite sports. Each week, there will be one sport discussed, from popular such as basketball, soccer and dance, to less known. Learners can make suggestions about which sport they'd like to draw at upcoming sessions. We will discuss anatomy (bones, joints, muscles) as it relates to the pose we are drawing. Learners will interact with each other and the teacher by showing their work in progress throughout the class to receive...
Learners will improve their understanding of drawing the human body in motion. Students will learn the age appropriate basics of anatomy: bones and joints. Students will use gross motor skills to act out movements, and spatial skills to transfer the movements to a 2-d surface.
There is no homework, but sometimes a learner may want to finish a drawing after class time is over.
Learners will need basic school/art supplies: unlined paper (copy paper or a sketchpad), sharpened #2 pencils, erasers, coloring materials of choice (markers, crayons or coloring pencils are all fine).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I will be looking at student artwork throughout the class to check for understanding and provide feedback.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
