Description
Class Experience
Students will be able to define DNA and it's role in the human body. Students will be able to define RNA. Students will also be able to explain what genes are and how they pertain to DNA. Students will understand the relationship between DNA, RNA, and genes. Students will also be able to to define genetics.
There is no homework for this class.
Worksheets will be uploaded into the classroom for families to print and bring to class. Items needed for the DNA model include: Straws Tape Clay (this can be replaced with anything that is lightweight and round) Paint (optional)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners are assessed based on their ability to explain and define DNA, RNA, genes, and genetics. The students ability to create a DNA model will also be used as a basic assessment tool.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
