In this interactive one time class, students will learn many new and exciting facts about our Moon. Students will get a better understanding of how the Moon reflects light, the lunar phases, the lunar atmosphere, and even who named the Moon. I will begin the class by asking for students to share what they already know about the Moon and what they wish to learn. Students will learn why there are craters on the Moon and just what those dark patches are on its surface. Students will even get to make their own Moon masterpiece. I like to keep classes smaller so I can fully engage and interact with each student. I feel this makes it a more special learning experience. This astronomy class is full of fun and interesting facts about the Moon that students will be talking about long after class is over. **Note to Parents: If there is not a time that works for you, please send me a request and I will be sure to respond quickly. Thank you.

Supply List
A simple salt dough recipe will be sent before the first class. The students will bring the salt dough to class in order to form a model of the Moon during the lesson. A pencil will also be needed as we will use the dull end to create craters in our Moon.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Education from Liberty University
Hello everyone. My name is Tyler, and I have been teaching for over 12 years. I have my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Psychology. I taught preschool for many years, I homeschool my own children, and I have been teaching online for several years. I have a passion for learning as well as teaching. I am a very patient teacher. I want each child to know how special they are. When they have that confidence, they will succeed.
I have three daughters, and know that children learn best when they are having FUN. I like to keep my lessons fun and interactive. My favorite part of teaching is connecting with the students and watching them grow and learn over time. I want children to look forward to my classes and always feel comfortable. I am very upbeat and patient. I was a very shy child, and one of my daughters is the same. I want every child to feel comfortable, and never worry that I will put them on the spot.
One of my favorite things to do, when I am not teaching, is to travel. I love traveling all over the world and immersing myself in different cultures. That is why geography is my favorite subject to teach. My classes are full of fun, movement, and adventure. I try to always make it an adventure so that children are excited to learn. I love to learn, and continue to educate myself daily so that I can also educate others. My family and I are very active and love to be outside. We live on our little 6 acre farm, and enjoy having the room to run and play. Thank you for taking the time to read a little about me. Please let me know any questions that you have, and I would be more than happy to talk with you.
I'm excited to meet your little ones.
