Homework
1 hour per week. Students are asked to spend at least 15 - 30 minutes a week stargazing using either apps, PCs, binoculars, telescopes or their natural eyes the various constellations.

Students will also learn how to track and calculate star positions using right ascension and declination, choose tools for amateur stargazing from naked eye observation to binoculars to telescopes, select computer and smartphone astronomy computer and apps and how to determine the time and day for upcoming astronomical events – eclipses, comets and meteor showers.

Students will learn how to distinguish between stars and artificial satellites, the moon's phases, and more details on black holes, constellations, quasars.
Learning Goals
This course will review 88 constellations recognized by The International Astronomical Union.
Students will learn about Messier Objects – A French Astronomer – Charles Messier (1730-1817) identified these 100 objects and categorized them by brightness.

    William Alfred Council is a Freelance Writer / Digital Artist. He has a B.A. in English from Columbia University and is a Desert Storm Marine Corps Veteran. He is also a member of the League of Graphic Novel Educators.
     
    A lifelong fan of comics, William interned at Marvel Comics under the tutelage of Editor Gregory Wright. Both a Writer and Graphic Artist since 1992, William began servicing individuals, local churches and organizations under the company name: New Vision Enterprises.
     
    Besides Computer Consultations, William has also taught basic business skills and successfully found funding for Not for Profit organizations. He is currently the President of Zephaniah Comics.
