Astronomy is the branch of science that deals with celestial objects, space, and the physical universe as a whole. In "Astronomy Basics for Space Enthusiasts!" your learners will learn about a different astronomy/space topic during each class. Class topics (in order) are as follows: 1: Planets 2: The Sun 3. Moons 4. Stars and Constellations 5. Black Holes and Neutron Stars 6. Comets, Asteroids, and Meteors 7. Nebulae and Planetary Nebulae 8. Galaxies 9. Exoplanets 10. The Big Bang This class has 10 sessions: 40 minutes, 2x a week, for 5 weeks. In between sessions, students are welcome to send me any questions through Outschool messages! Each class will be structured the same: introduction and hellos, scientific and evidence-based teachings on the topic, an educational video, and a time that's set aside for questions and comments. Learners are encouraged, but not required, to ask questions throughout the class! This class is meant to be educational, yet casual enough that class feels like a conversation. Please read below my teaching style, as this gives a great indication of how classes will be! Throughout each class, I will share my computer screen to show pictures and videos on the topic of that day. Learners will not need to share their screens or provide any materials (unless they have something space-related they wish to show me, I always encourage this!). This is a class catered to beginners, though all levels are welcome. No previous astronomy knowledge is required! --- I'd describe my teaching style as "having fun while learning." It's essential to stay focused and on task, but if a learner gets bored, they won't learn or remember as much as a learner who is being challenged and having fun. This class is structured but will have a casual feeling, providing a fun environment where your learners will feel comfortable and excited to interact. I am very friendly and fun, and I smile all the time! I guarantee your learner will leave class with a newfound excitement for space!
