At the end of class, a recommendation will be made for which level of the Piano Music Class Series would be the appropriate next step in the learner's piano journey.Class Experience
Hello! I am Mrs. Pauli. I am a piano teacher here on Outschool. If you have been looking at my Piano Music Class series Levels A - J, and are wondering which class will be the right level and placement for your learner, you have found the right place. This one-time assessment will be an opportunity for your learner to meet me before class begins and show me what they have learned from other teachers and other piano classes so we can proceed on the most productive path. During our 25 minute session, I will ask your learner to demonstrate some piano songs they have learned, ask them questions about music reading, and get a general sense of what direction they are interested in taking their music education. I am looking forward to meeting your learner! A Google slideshow with various levels of piano music will be displayed in the screenshare to asses your learner's music reading and playing level.
Supply List
Access to a piano or keyboard during lesson where the learners elbows are the same height as the keys. Keyboards on tables are often too high (chest or shoulder height) which can harm wrists and hinder movement. Students need to be able to see the classroom screen where the music will be shown in a slideshow while they are sitting at their piano. There are no books to purchase for the Piano Music Class sereis. I have created a curriculum of music from very beginner music reading and songs for each hand alone through advanced intermediate piano pieces such as Rondo Alla Turca by Mozart. Please be sure that your learner can see the screen while at the keys of their piano/keyboard. It is very important to make sure I can hear your piano and that it is not blocked by the background noise suppression through Zoom. **Please turn on "Original Sound for Musicians" in the Zoom audio settings before class. ** If you need instructions on how to enable this setting, please watch this youtube tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEZMRtrSsYY Students using a desktop or laptop can adjust this setting during the meeting. However, students using a phone or tablet must enable Original Sound before entering the class or I may not be able to hear your piano.
