Students should login to their course online to Start ASL daily, and complete the necessary work before the following week. This curriculum will be graded automatically on the Start ASL website, as each student works through and completes each weekly unit, reading assignment, and quiz. There will not be a quiz every week. Each student will be able to access their work and see their grades on Start ASL. I have known American Sign Language for a long time! Twenty years ago, I learned ASL in high school, which allowed me to communicate with the deaf community. Because of this, I created some amazing friendships along the way. I have learned so much! I would love to pass this knowledge on to eager learners who are searching out another language to retain. ASL is also great for developing fine motor skills, mastery in spelling words, and strengthening memorization. I taught my 3 sons basic signs in American Sign Language when they were babies, so I could understand what they wanted even before they knew how to verbalize it!
