Students will learn how to tell stories in ASL.
I have a Master's of Education Degree in Special Education with a Certificate in American Sign Language. I took 5 years of ASL classes in college, as well as 6 years in middle and high school. I was also a part of a sign choir during middle and high school. We would learn a variety of songs in ASL and then perform them for the community. I have been a Special Education teacher for 6+ years working with students with learning disabilities as well as teaching them sign language.
I will provide videos and slides demonstrating the signing of different stories we will be discussing, as well as any additional activities the students will be completing. All the students need for this class is their hands and something to record themselves signing with.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
