Join us on an exciting adventure into the world of sign language! You can learn to communicate with others using American Sign Language (ASL). This beginner-friendly course is designed to help you develop basic sign language skills, fostering communication and understanding in a fun and interactive way. No prior experience required – just a willingness to learn and have fun!

Class Structure:
Session 1: Introduction to Sign Language
•	Brief history of sign language
•	Importance of learning sign language
•	Basic Finger Spelling
•	Courtesy words, please and thank you
•	Practice spelling common words and names

Session 2: Everyday Expressions
•	Learn common greetings and how to introduce yourself
•	Basic needs: Want, bathroom, expressing thirst and hunger.
•	Asking for help.
•	Activities to reinforce learning through games

Session 3: Making requests and asking questions
•	How to tell someone to stop doing something
•	Introduction to numbers and colors in sign language
•	Practice simple conversational phrases
•	Asking questions

Session 4: Basic Conversational Signs
•	You will learn signs for everyday phrases, like "How are you?", "Nice to meet you"
•	We will sing a song about being happy together.
•	Signs for family members and friends
•	Create short dialogues using learned signs

This structure ensures a gradual progression from basic elements to more complex language components. 
Additionally, incorporating interactive and practical elements will make the class engaging and memorable for beginners.
You will learn basic signs to communicate with deaf people. This will increase your compassion and sensitivity to others. We will talk about the history of deaf culture.
Learning Goals
By the end of this class, the learners will be able to:
-- Sign yes and no, please, thank you, and other courtesy phrases in ASL
-- Use  the basics of fingers spelling the alphabet
-- Express wants and needs using ASL
-- Understand mote about Deaf history and culture.
