Beginner Level
These self-paced classes allow you to learn American Sign Language vocabulary as you make dinner in the kitchen. Explore different recipes as you engage in hands-on learning with ASL. Beneficial for visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners. Classes range from 22-26 minutes. Experience ASL through detailed explanations of hand signs and repetition. It is my joy to share ASL as a second language and to help bridge the gap between hearing and Deaf communities. Come sign with me!

Learn American Sign Language vocabulary as you make a salad together! Learn practical signs for food, colors, and cooking instructions. Sign the song "Let's Make a Salad". 24 mins of video lessons

ASL: Make Pizza
Learn American Sign Language vocabulary as you make pizza. The dough has already been prepared. Let's put on the toppings together as we learn ASL! 22 mins of video lessons

ASL: Fried Rice
Learn American Sign Language vocabulary as we make fried rice together. 23 mins of video lessons
Lesson 4:
ASL: Spaghetti
Learn American Sign Language vocabulary as you make spaghetti. Cook the meat with vegetables, a red sauce, and a white sauce. 27 mins of video lessons
Other Details
Learning Needs
ASL helps students with multiple learning needs by reinforcing vocabulary. Research has shown incorporating sign language with spoken language improves comprehension, expression, and communication for special education learners.
Parental Guidance
Some recipes may require parental assistance if using an oven, knife, or food processor. Always ask parents for permission to use these items. Follow instructions carefully if you are preparing food with me.
Supply List
You are welcome to make the recipes with me or just watch and learn. Salad: lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, peppers, etc. Pizza: Pepperoni, onion, peppers, sauce, cheese, parmesan cheese, seasoning, broccoli. Fried Rice: rice, meat, carrots, celery, pepper, peas, broccoli, onion, egg, soy sauce, black pepper. Spaghetti: 1 lb. ground meat, 1/4 onions, 1/4 pepper, 1 carrot, water, 1 box of noodles, 2 Tbs flour, 2 tb. butter, 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, 1/2 tsp-1 tsp black pepper, 1-1/2 cups milk, large can of diced tomatoes, 2 cans of tomato paste, 1 tsp oregano, 1 tsp basil, 1 Tb parsley, 1 Tb brown sugar, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp salt

I have taught Little Signers ASL to preschool and elementary students over the past 10 years. I have a Masters in Education: Curriculum & Instruction with certifications in K-6th, biology, and earth science. I have a Bachelors of Science in Biology with an Environmental Studies minor. I am a former public school teacher of 5 yrs and homeschool teacher of 10 yrs. I completed ASL I, II, III, & V in college and interpret for a Deaf family in church. I am also a 200 hr certified Yoga Teacher with additional certifications in Kids Yoga, Mommy Me Yoga, and Prenatal Yoga. I also teach ASL in my Kids Yoga, Baby Toddler Me Yoga, and Baby Connections classes. In addition to teaching on Outschool, I teach a weekly live online Little Signers class. Reviews
