Class Experience

Hi! Welcome to Learn to Sign in 10 Classes! I'm so glad you're here! ASL for beginners is an exciting and interactive class for children who want to learn Sign Language!

During this course children will learn the following signs:

- The Alphabet
- How to Count from 1-100
- Their colors
- Animals
- Food
- Emotions 
- Family 
- Locations around the city
- Clothes
- Patterns
- Telling Time
- Time Words
- Question Words
- Health and Emergency Signs
- ASL Grammar
- They Will Learn to Fingerspell Their Names
- Requests - please, excuse, thank you, help, who, what, when, where, why, how, stop
- Learn conversations and questions such as, "My name is _______", "What is your name?", "Where is the bathroom?", "How are you?", and TONS more!!

We will be covering vocabulary, grammar, conversational skills, and Deaf culture. This course will be tons of fun!!! 

No previous knowledge of ASL is needed! Minimal knowledge is ASL is fine as well! I am looking forward to learning, laughing, and signing with your children soon!!

Class policy: Each student must have a camera on during this so that I can help them with the correct hand-forms and locations, this is an essential part of learning in this course. Student's will also be engaging and practicing their ASL signs with conversations and their hands must be seen for this. If the student does not want their face seen, they may angle the camera to only show their hands.

Supply List
A link to the playback video will be posted after each class for the students to watch in between classes or as needed to help them remember signs.

I have my double certificate in ASL from International Open Academy and am heavily involved in the Deaf community in my area. I love children, ASL, and reading!
