Class Experience
Students will: *learn the proper ASL sign for ten fruits, plus one sentence *apply this knowledge to match pictures/props *interact with their peers in a small group setting
ASL has been an interest of mine for as long as I can remember. Please note, I am not a sign language interpreter or teacher, nor am I Deaf, but I have completed two semesters of sign language courses, as well as ongoing self-study. As a public school teacher, I taught an ASL mini-course to middle school aged students, focusing on fingerspelling, and vocabulary practice.
There are so many ASL resources out there from books to YouTube videos to other Outschool classes. I encourage anyone interested in sign language to keep learning! It's a fascinating topic to study.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
