Class Experience

Preschoolers LOVE to sign – it’s like their own secret language! Children in this age group are natural signers – they love to learn with their hands. The kinesthetic activity helps them to remember important concepts and learn new words!

In these classes, we use both signing and movement to help keep students physically engaged so they can increase their vocabulary, improve their fine-motor skills and hand-eye coordination! Best of all, we have fun! We focus on preschool curriculum: ABCs, 123s, colors, animals, feelings, weather and seasons to keep kids engaged and excited to learn while reinforcing their pre-k experience! A major focus of these on-going classes is helping students learn how to be students in a traditional classroom setting - we focus on skills like listening, taking turns and communicating appropriately, as they develop their attention spans.

As such, our classes will follow a similar routine to help students get used to a preschool setting. We will open the class with a song and greetings. We will warm up with some weather signs and the ABCs then jump into the new signs for the day.

I will provide a weekly follow up with flash cards for most common signs in each category. I'll also have fun activity sheets and will do a show & tell class once a month!
