US Grade 1
REVISED! The course will begin by teaching the ASL alphabet, numbers, colors, days and some basic principles of ASL. The class size will be limited to 6 learners so that ample attention can be given to each individual. Class participation is an integral part of this learning experience and students are encouraged to practice using their ASL skills outside of class. I have chosen to use Sign Language For Kids Activity Book by Tara Adams for this class. It had excellent illustrations for each sigh I will teach and also has fun activities that students can do outside of class to practice what we are learning. I received my Bachelors degree in Deaf Education, taught in a self-contained classroom for the hearing impaired, interpreted in a mainstreamed situation in elementary and college settings, interpreted in church/social/medical settings, taught ASL at church and college setting. Have a love for Deaf and want to encourage others to learn to communicate with them.
