What's included
1 live meeting
30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this intro to ASL class I will be teaching over 20+ signs to new learners! It is so exciting to learn a new language, especially if you are a visual learner or like things hands on. We will have a fun interactive class where we all are practicing signs together. I enjoy teaching vocab and incorporating sentences you would sign with it as I teach. Typically we will learn the vocab, practice, and at the end review what was learned. The class lesson will be emailed out afterwards for students to go back and practice the signs learned. This class will be great to see if you want to continue on with your signing!
Learning Goals
The goal of this class is to get learners an intro into learning ASL.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Arizona Teaching Certificate in Foreign Language
American Sign Language has been a passion of mine from a young age. I started taking classes at age 12 so I could sign with my Deaf friends at school. I continued through the rest of my k-12 career & went to college for ASL interpreting. I became a Certified ASL interpreter in the educational field pre-k-University level for about 8 years. I went back to school and got my Masters in Education to change my career path into teaching. While I love interpreting, being able to teach students is a great passion I have. I am a certified ASL teacher & this is my 5th year teaching. I have taught various levels of students! Currently my day job is teaching ASL levels 1 & 2 at a local high school. I would love to teach your child as I myself am teaching my own children (along with high schoolers).
