Description

Class Experience

Course Objective: 
ASL 2 works to expand and build on ASL1 with Mrs. G. You will review vocabulary, grammar, and culturally appropriate uses of ASL through natural, everyday conversational situations. ASL 2 will allow students to work on quick retrieval of vocabulary for a variety of discussions. This course will encourage "your turn" activities. 

Since ASL is a visual/gestural language, you will need to develop communication skills of which you are not accustomed: using one's hands, face,...

Students will begin a successful journey learning ASL and prepare for advancement to ASL 3 with Mrs. G.

Learners will complete bi-weekly discussion board video assignments. For example: Introduce yourself in ASL! Post a video of yourself signing: "Hello! My name is (fingerspell your first name). What's your name? Nice to meet you". Video to be posted on the Outschool attachment feature in the assignment comment tab.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Quizlet
Google account for final
YouTube for captioned videos if needed

Week 8: A google link to Mrs. G's ASL 2 final will be posted on the discussion board. Students will need a google account to log into final. Students will also need to complete bi-weekly discussion boards and master each unit Quizlet assigned. Completing the above allows for class credit.

No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
