Egypt's heartland, the Nile River valley is a fertile, historically important, and exciting land. Come follow the Nile River down through Egypt to sail to some of the ancient world's most dramatic structures. The Nile is the world’s longest river which runs through a desert. Campers will learn about ancient Egypt, with the old, middle, and new kingdoms, pharaohs, many amazing achievements originating from Egypt and more. This fantastic camp runs Monday through Friday! This fun filled camp will include crafts, projects, discussions, math fun, geography, themed games, puzzles, and more. Step back into history and discover Egypt! Campers will engage with the themed lessons through discussions, question and answers, peer learning, presented information on slides, read, and face to face. Supplies needed: cost of camp takes this into account. Each day will follow this schedule on kid time Welcome and overview 3-5 minutes Daily focus 25-30 minutes Craft, puzzles, game, other enrichment 15-20 minutes Review and prepare for tomorrow 5-10 minutes Monday: Country of Egypt, Nile River, Geography-map of Egypt Tuesday: Pyramids, Sphinx, King Tutankhamen the boy king-craft headdress and model pyramid Wednesday: Pharaohs Thursday: Deeper look into history from ancient times to today-timeline Friday: Hieroglyphics, inventions--craft amulet, cartouche
Learning Goals
Campers will learn or increase knowledge of the great land of Egypt. Campers will learn about ancient Egypt's old, middle, and new kingdoms, pharaohs, many amazing achievements originating from Egypt and more. Knowledge is reinforced through crafts, projects, discussions, math fun, geography, themed games, puzzles, and more.

Parental Guidance
Will discuss age-appropriate basics of mummification.
Supply List
Crayons, glue stick or tape, markers, scissors and string/yarn if you want to make a craft into a necklace.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
History is an interest of mine. I served the Director of Ancillary Services tasked with planning and executing summer and winter camps at a PK-12 school. I hold a degree in Psychology and an MBA, a 150-hour master teacher certificate for teaching English as a second language courses and have served as a college counselor for almost 5 years advising students and families on the college acceptance process. I have taught middle school, have been an academic administrator in a Pre-K 12 school and was a founding director of a Learning Center.
