In this one-time class, learners will be able to ask and answer questions based on the story "Those Shoes" written by Maribeth Boelts. The story is about a young boy who lives in an urban community. His ultimate dream is to own a new popular pair of shoes that has special powers. Not only do these shoes have special powers, but all of his friends at school own them. He must have these shoes. Learners will be able to state or draw key questions in the story to demonstrate their understanding. Learners will be able to understand why readers ask and answer questions.
