Kids love to make little journals and book to draw, write or doodle in. And do you know there are dozens of ways to make books that are easy, use recycled or materials that are readily available in most homes and require very little adult help? This light hearted club style class will teach kids how to create a new style book or journal each week while giving kids the opportunity to interact and chat! These books are simple enough that most kids can do them with very little help, but are impressive enough to make great gifts for friends and family! Journals and books can be used for school projects, list making, travel journals, sketchbooks, road trip games, poetry writing, journalling and so much more. Every Monday evening, I will upload a list of supplies for that week's class. Supplies will be easy to gather, however in the supply section there is a list of frequently used materials that you can begin to gather. 9/10/20 Week 1: Eight in One 9/17/20 Week 2: According to You 9/24/20 Week 3: Roll A Scroll 10/1/20 Week 4: Breakfast Book 10/8/20 Week 5: Rainbow Book 10/15/20 Week 6: Chop Stick Straw 10/22/20 Week 7: Pop-Up 10/29/20 Week 8: N-VL-OPE 11/5/20 Week 9: Stitch A Spine 11/12/20 Week 10: Book in a Box 11/19/20 Week 11: You're a STAR (no class 11/26/20) 12/3/20 Week 12: Pocket-Book Additional weeks may be scheduled if there is sufficient interest in continuing.

Stephanie made her first book in 3rd grade for a book report with the help of her Dad. Since then Ms. Stephanie has been teaching art to kids of all ages for 25 yrs and been making handmade and sculptural books off and on for nearly half that time. Handmade travel journals and art journals are her favorite books to make, but simplifying the process for kids to develop a love of handmade books is always fun and rewarding.
